True Scene Modeling  

Are you ready to shape and mold a landscape where you can "plant" trees and firmly establish figures and buildings? Follow these simple steps!

STEP 1:

PREPARE MODELING FIBRE MIXTURE

Mix approximately equal parts fibre and warm water. Allowing mixture to stand 30-60 minutes before spreading will provide a better consistency.

Note: When using our BULK product, first tint warm water with craft, artist, or household latex* paint to attain desired color before mixing. Then, add fibre to tinted water.

*NOTE: When latex paint is used, leftover mixture cannot be re-hydrated once it has dried out.

 STEP 2:

APPLY TO PREPARED SURFACE 

Fibre mixture can be applied directly to wood, cardboard, or other porous materials. When using foam board or non-porous material, cover surface with strips of adhesive drywall tape. Drop mounds of fibre mixture on surface and spread with spatula or other spreading instrument. 

 STEP 3:

ADD SCENERY DETAILS

For a grassy, meadow scene, sprinkle flock, darker to lighter shades, directly onto the wet mixture; mist with water after each color. Next, add artificial or natural clump foliage, shrubs, rail ties, logs, etc. by thoroughly moistening them before gently pushing them into the fibre "earth" you've just created! Allow to dry for a day before adding stem-like materials. Using a toothpick, make a hole to "plant" stems.

Note that drying time can be up to one week depending on application thickness, humidity, and sub-base.
